Installation notes
When you install this version
of Noteur, automatically two directories are created if they do not yet
exist:
- c:\midigam with one demo gamma: #demo.gam. We strongly recommend
that you use this directory for your gamma-files (.gam).
- c:\midimpl with the file #demo.mpl (sample MPL) and #demo.kef
(sample buttonset). If you did use MPL's or buttonsets before, please copy
this files to \midimpl. If you want to use another directory, change the
location with "settings-locations" in Noteur. If you download
button/MPLsets, be sure to install them in the proper directory.
If the directories already exist, the current contens are not affected by
the setup.

Important
note
Using Windows
Vista causes problems with Noteur.
We strongly recommend to use windows XP or a lower version of windows. It
can take a while to solve the problems Vista causes, so keep an old PC for
this purpose.
In case of problems with installation:
Normally the installation of Noteur does not require any special
installation instructions. HOWEVER, sometimes it happens that setup.exe can not find the
file setup.lst and ends with an error. This is due to the fact that the path name of
the tempory folder that winzip uses for extraction and execution is too long for
setup.exe.
If you meet this problem, use the following procedure:
- download noteur.zip. During download use the option 'save to disk' in
stead of 'open'.
- after the download, open the file noteur.zip(double click) and extract the contents to a
directory, for instance 'noteur' in the root of C. If the directory does not exist, winzip
will create it.
- then execute the program setup.exe again and complete the setup procedure.
